Machinist

Description

  • This is a Morning Shift position. Monday through Friday, 7 AM—3:30 PM.
  • $23.00 to $27.00 Per-Hour
  • Reports to Shift Supervisor.

Education

  • AA/BA/BS in related field or equivalent work experience

 Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience with basic machining skills.

 Skills

  • Interprets engineering drawings and manufactures to drawing requirements.
  • Understands GD&T requirements.
  • Writes manual programs for CNC.
  • Familiar with the use of AutoCAD software program.
  • Machining of metal and non-metal materials.
  • Skilled in the use of the following machining equipment (or equivalent):
  • Bridgeport CNC and manual milling machines
  • Bridgeport Romi CNC lathe
  • Surface Grinder
  • Manual Lathe

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision and with close coordination with Engineering, machines parts, used for cable over-molds, per detailed drawing or verbal instructions.
  • Machining of metal and non-metal materials.
  • Assemble and disassemble components in order to create a functional component.
  • Writes some manual programs for CNC to achieve finished machined product.
  • Maintain a high degree of initiative and judgment until completion of each task.
  • Makes or repairs tools, fixtures and jigs as required.
  • Checks and measures parts during machining to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Comprehends the entire job and contributes to the efforts of everyone involved.
  • Performs periodic maintenance on production (machining) equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Machine Operator “Re-Spooler”

Description

  • This is a Morning Shift position. Monday through Friday, 7 AM—3:30 PM.
  • $20.00 to $22.00 Per-Hour
  • Reports to Shift Supervisor.

Education

  • High school or equivalent work experience

 Experience

  • At least 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.

 Skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to speak and read in English
  • Ability to use the computer to access the work order and record production data
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to respool

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Re-spool wire and label spool
  • Inspect product during re-spool process; remove joints and advise Manager of quality concerns
  • Inspect incoming work orders against material specifications
  • Co-ordinate production with shipping and receiving departments
  • Set up pay-off and take-up equipment and ensure even traversing of product
  • Set up and use spark tester on product
  • Inventory materials
  • Enter inspection, material consumption, finish quantity, and run data into MES program
  • Adhere to Injury and Illness prevention rules and policies
  • Maintain good housekeeping of area
  • Train personnel as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Extrusion Operator

Description

  • This is a Morning Shift position. Monday through Friday, 7 AM—3:30 PM.
  • $22.00 to 24.00 Per-Hour
  • Reports to Shift Supervisor.

Education

  • High school or equivalent work experience

 Experience

  • Minimum 3 years wire and cable manufacturing experience

 Skills

  • Ability to read prints, BOMs, and work orders
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to speak and read in English
  • Ability to use the computer to access the work order and record production data
  • Attention to detail
  • Use of measuring hand tools
  • Basic math skills
  • Primary Extrusion, Jacket Extrusion, and/or Silicone Rubber extrusion
  • Wheel printer and/or jet printer

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Select proper tooling and materials per supplied documentation
  • Set-up and change-over machine tooling for extruders
  • Adjust and operate extruders
  • Load and unload product in extruder during operation
  • Set-up and run automatic concentrate loader
  • Set-up and run drying ovens
  • Understand color coding and proper color loading
  • Set-up and operate silicone rubber milling machine
  • Set up pay-off and take-up equipment and ensure even traversing of product
  • Set up and use spark tester on product
  • Inventory materials
  • Inspect conductors and components per specifications
  • Use microscope and digital readings
  • Enter inspection, material consumption, and run data into MES program
  • Adhere to Injury and Illness prevention rules and policies
  • Maintain good housekeeping of area and tooling
  • Train personnel as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

About this Company

BAYCABLE is a manufacturer of custom cable and custom cable assemblies for the Medical Device, Industrial Equipment, and other markets where a standard cable or cable assembly will not meet the requirements of the application. We have been in business for 50 years and are located in Fremont, California. We are also responsible for our wholly owned subsidiary, NEI Systems Mexico in Sonora, Mexico and work closely with the local Management and Quality Manager to ensure both manufacturing sites are working to satisfy customer requirements.
