Engineering Manager

Due to an upcoming retirement BAYCABLE is looking for an Engineering Manager.

This full-time position is based in Fremont, CA and requires a BS in Engineering or related subject, and at least 5 years work experience in a related field. Experience at a cable manufacturing and cable assembly company is preferred, but would consider prior employment at an OEM, or CM where responsibility for working with cable and cable assembly vendors was a key element of their duties and required them to be knowledgeable of the manufacturing processes and quality issues associated with cables and assemblies.

The Engineering Manager is a key member of the Senior Management Team and would play a role in strategic planning for the company, including defining new capabilities that expand our offering, and play a key role in defining any new equipment and processes needed to achieve that.

Knowledge of the processes used to manufacture cable and cable assemblies such as extrusion, cabling, taping, braiding, soldering, crimping, mechanical assembly, and insert molding, including designing injection molding tooling are required.

This position currently has seven direct reports, four engineers, two technical associates and a machinist. Managing this team, assigning projects, monitoring progress, and providing performance goals and guidance is a key element of this position.
