Warehouse Floater

Description

  • This is a Morning Shift position. Monday through Friday, 7 AM—3:30 PM.
  • $20.00 to $23.00 Per-Hour
  • Reports to Production Manager.

Education

  • High school or equivalent work experience

 Experience

  • At least 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.

 Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to read prints, BOMS, and work orders
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Use of measuring hand tools
  • All receiving activities
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • All Shipping process activities
  • Ability to speak and read in English
  • Ability to use the computer to access the work order and record production data
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to respool
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. throughout the workday

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Kit product for cabling
  • Set up and use spark tester on product
  • Running equipment: vertical cabler, horizontal cabler, twister, and respooler
  • Set up and take down bobbin machinery
  • Set up and take down braider, including choosing appropriate gears
  • Select proper tooling and materials per supplied documentation
  • Set up and change-over machine tooling for production
  • Adjust machine parameters
  • Load and unload product during operation
  • Set up pay-off and take-up equipment and ensure even traversing of product
  • Inventory materials
  • Inspect conductors and components per specifications
  • Enter inspection, material consumption, and run data into MES program
  • Coordinate work with all departments (cabling, assembly, shipping, receiving)
  • Receive shipments for purchase orders, customer supplied materials and transfers
  • Inspect in-coming shipments for damage
  • Match in-coming shipments to packing slips
  • Match packing slips to purchase orders
  • Work with purchasing and sales on any issue regarding quantity, documentation, or packaging damage issues
  • Enter receipt data and scanned paperwork/documentation into the ERP system
  • Label and confirm certification on in-coming material
  • Enter expiration date of material into ERP system as required
  • Maintain hold area for any incorrect or damaged shipments
  • Route material to Quality Control if incoming inspection is required
  • Distribute in-coming shipments
  • Verify quantities and stock unused material returned from the cabling department
  • Organize inventory in the main plant and off-site storage locations
  • Create new inventory location codes in ERP as required
  • Operate forklift, as required
  • Responsible for cycle counts
  • Assist with year-end inventory
  • Process shipments in ERP computer system for sales orders, transfer orders, outside processing orders, RMA’s, samples, and documents
  • Process shipments in customer portals
  • Maintain shipments report
  • Calculate freight costs
  • Match, fill, and verify shipping quantities, batch number and serial number tracking, create and verify packing slips, and shipping documents
  • Attach all required labeling requirements to shipments
  • Include all required shipping documents with shipment
  • Schedule daily pick-ups
  • Close and print carrier daily shipping manifests
  • Receive work orders
  • Package assemblies as needed
  • Reorder shipping and material supplies
  • Weigh packages
  • Work with cable and assembly personnel to track status of product
  • Adhere to Injury and Illness prevention rules and policies
  • Maintain good housekeeping of area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Machine Operator “Re-Spooler”

Description

  • This is a Morning Shift position. Monday through Friday, 7 AM—3:30 PM.
  • $20.00 to $22.00 Per-Hour
  • Reports to Shift Supervisor.

Education

  • High school or equivalent work experience

 Experience

  • At least 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.

 Skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to speak and read in English
  • Ability to use the computer to access the work order and record production data
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to respool

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Re-spool wire and label spool
  • Inspect product during re-spool process; remove joints and advise Manager of quality concerns
  • Inspect incoming work orders against material specifications
  • Co-ordinate production with shipping and receiving departments
  • Set up pay-off and take-up equipment and ensure even traversing of product
  • Set up and use spark tester on product
  • Inventory materials
  • Enter inspection, material consumption, finish quantity, and run data into MES program
  • Adhere to Injury and Illness prevention rules and policies
  • Maintain good housekeeping of area
  • Train personnel as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

About this Company

BAYCABLE is a manufacturer of custom cable and custom cable assemblies for the Medical Device, Industrial Equipment, and other markets where a standard cable or cable assembly will not meet the requirements of the application. We have been in business for 50 years and are located in Fremont, California. We are also responsible for our wholly owned subsidiary, NEI Systems Mexico in Sonora, Mexico and work closely with the local Management and Quality Manager to ensure both manufacturing sites are working to satisfy customer requirements.
